Breast Augmentation – Your Dreams Come True

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

The popularity of breast augmentation is a testimony to its safe and pleasing results.  Almost everyone knows a friend or relative who has breast implants. Women want to change their breast size or shape for a variety of reasons.  It ranges from wanting an improvement in their appearance, to restoring fullness lost in pregnancy or aging.  While other women pursue this surgery purely to achieve a larger cup size or possibly because they just desire symmetrical breasts.

Women generally report an increase of self-esteem after a successful breast augmentation.  More choices in clothing become available, the figure is more balanced, and size, shape, and voluptuousness are added to the breast.  The most important decision you can make regarding a breast augmentation is in your doctor.  If you are have been considering enhancing your breasts, then the next step to take is to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Miguel Gallegos is a cetified plastic surgeon. His office, Hermosa Plastic Surgery is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

During a consultation with Dr. Gallegos you will discusses your needs and how you will benefit from the procedure or procedures, as breast augmentation is often done with a breast lift depending on the breast size, shape, and desired results. The two of you will also talk about possible risks, and he will answer any questions you may have regarding breast surgery.

If you are over the age of 18, you can be a candidate for implantation.  However, you should always discuss your full health history with a doctor before making a decision.  Some doctors prefer to wait on women who are in their early 20’s, as breasts are in their final stages of development then.  Another benefiting factor to consider is if you have enough excess body tissue to cover the breast implant.  Wrinkles in the implant may be felt and seen if you do not.  Adequate tissue means breasts will look more normal.  To aid in the most natural looking breasts, which are really oval, not round, Dr. Gallegos places the implants under the chest muscle.

Dr. Gallegos is board certified as a plastic surgeon, and has been performing quality, successful plastic surgeries for over 8 years.  He knows the latest breast augmentation techniques to help you, including breast reconstruction, lift, and reduction.  The cosmetic standards at his facility have been recognized for high-quality care and outstanding safety by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities.  From the first visit you make for your personal consultation, to the last follow-up appointment after your successful procedure, you will be glad that you chose the personal attention that Hermosa Plastic Surgery delivers to each and every patient.

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Do you remember when you were little, what you did when you found an eyelash? Some of us were taught to make a wish on it, and blow. Based on this childhood ritual, Allergan, makers of Latisse, a product offered to make your eyelashes longer, thicker, and darker, have started a campaign under The Make-A-Wish-Foundation to help children who have medical problems that are life-threatening, make their wishes come true. Dr. Miguel Gallegos of Hermosa Plastic Surgery in Albuquerque, New Mexico is one of many doctors who support the Latisse Wishes Challenge.

The Challenge is simple; when you give at least $20 dollars to the Make-A-Wish-Foundation, the manufacturers of Latisse will match your gift. Then you will receive a certificate in which you can try out Latisse for free. Latisse is currently the only prescription available approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for eyelash improvement. If you wish your eyelashes were darker, longer, and fuller, Latisse may work for you. When you get your free trial certificate in the mail from Latisse, take it to your Dr. Gallegos and see if Latisse is right for you.

The Make-A-Wish-Foundation began in 1983 by helping a boy realize his dream of becoming a police office. All it takes is generous volunteers and donations. Liposuction – Sculpt Your Body

Monday, July 12th, 2010

Do you have areas on your body where stubborn fat has accumulated, and is seemingly not responsive to any amount of diet or exercise that you have done? Do you have cellulite? I can hear all of the women reading this, saying yes! Additionally, menopause causes hormonal changes within the body that can cause fat to accumulate around the waist, upper arms, and back. Pregnancy can cause your body to store fat in certain areas for milk production. Procedures to help you with these problems are available at Hermosa Plastic Surgery located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Liposuction, ultrasonic lipoplasty, Endermologie, and lipomassage are all options to consider.

Those who have small, localized areas of fat to be removed are good candidates for any of these procedures. A consultation can be made with Dr. Miguel Gallegos about liposuction. He will fully inform you of the treatment plans and procedures of any available liposuction treatment. Ultrasonic liposuction, or lipoplasty, is gentler than original liposuction, because it is less traumatic to the tissues of the body. Endermologie is a scientific breakthrough in which cellular stimulation is performed that is painless and noninvasive. Proven by 85 scientific studies, this method of mechanotransduction stimulates the skin surface to generate deep biological responses.

Cellulite affects 90% of women because of their hormonal functions. This is just an unpleasant fact that comes with being a woman. Endermologie and lipomassage are two ways of dealing with cellulite. These 100% natural treatments are totally painless, and are available at Hermosa Plastic Surgery in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The latest study in lipomassage revealed that 50% elimination of fat was attained, along with a 240% increase in collagen production, and a 160% increase of elastin! These results are variable, but the average comes from at least 6 sessions of 35 minutes each. This exciting procedure also helps you maintain skin firmness, and reshape and restructure your body.

If you choose ultrasonic lipoplasty, Dr. Gallegos will carefully select the areas for removal of excess fat. Tumescent fluid is first injected into the site. This fluid is a saline solution with anesthetic. A cannula (a thin, vacuum-like tube) is then inserted by the doctor by a small incision. The cannula transmits ultra-sonic waves into the area to break up the fat cells. Then they are gently sucked away. Final sculpting is performed by the doctor. This is achieved by tightening the underlying muscles to produce firmness, pulling the skin taut to create a smoother contour, and trimming off excess skin. The final step is the sutures which close the incision.
